Arsenal in battle with Manchester United for Milos Korquez

The Gunners are reportedly planning to sign a new left-back this transfer window to bolster their defence. However, Mikel Arteta does not usually use a natural defender, preferring to deploy a centre-back out wide.

As such, Arsenal have been linked with a number of names, Jorel Hutto being one of them, however, they now appear to be eyeing Kolquez too – who is a natural left-back.

According to HITC, Arsenal have shown an interest in the Bournemouth star and they have been closely monitoring his development recently before making a possible move this summer.

However, reports claim that Manchester United are also considering a move for him, with Chelsea and Manchester City also expressing interest in signing him. As a result, the Gunners will face stiff competition from rivals in completing any potential deal for him.

The Cherries recently signed the 20-year-old and are said to be keen to keep hold of their star player, but could change their stance if his potential suitors come forward with a £40m offer. Therefore, Arsenal or Manchester United will have to spend a large fee to sign him this summer.

Following injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, the Red Devils are said to be looking to sign a new left-back to bolster their defense ahead of next season.

Kolquez is quick and efficient up front, capable of delivering excellent crosses from the flanks and can also contribute defensively. The Hungarian is a talented player with high potential, so if any club buys him he could be a shrewd signing for Manchester United or Arsenal with an eye on the long-term future.

However, he is still a very raw talent and there are doubts that he is ready to take the next step in his career.

Therefore, Arsenal or Manchester United would be wise to explore other options to strengthen their defence. However, it will be interesting to see whether the north London club or the Premier League champions ultimately choose to formally express their interest in him this transfer window.
