Brighton winger on loan at Ipswich Town scores first goal for Ecuador

Despite trailing, Ecuador scored its first goal of its Copa America match against Venezuela at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Saturday afternoon.

Ecuador captain Enna Valencia was sent off in the 22nd minute for a brutal chest kick. However, the scoreless tie was broken by a 40th-minute goal from Brighton winger Jeremy Sarmiento as the Ratris took a 1-0 lead.

Sarmiento joined Brighton in 2021 and spent last season on loan at Ipswich Town.
