Daniel Peretz will remain at Bayern Munich through 2024/25 despite interest from FC Bochum

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz needs playing time in 2024/25, so Sports Illustrated reporters Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl ) (via @iMiaSanMia) Reports suggest that VfL Bochum could be a potential destination for 2023, which is no surprise.

Bochum are the loan option for Daniel Peretz this summer.

However, Kicker’s Frank Linksch (captured by Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg) reports that Vincent Kompany wants Peretz to stay with Sven Ulreich Compete or strive for second place:

Vincent Kompany studied Daniel Peretz’s film for a week before making it clear to club owners that he wanted to keep him. Neuer and Ulreich’s age and injury records also played a role in the decision. Kompany hopes to go into next season with three senior goalkeepers to avoid having to sign a new one in the event of injury. Bochum are keen on a loan deal for Peretz to replace Manuel Riemann.

BFW analysis

Peretz is in a strange position. He needs playing time – and appears to have options – but Bayern Munich will keep him around, competing for a role that may not be fully utilized with Manuel Neuer still in Bavaria.

Should Peretz be sent out on loan, or does Kompany have the right feel for how best to handle this? Or…if Peretz can’t win second place from Ulreich, will he be loaned out later?
