Douglas Luiz transfer to Juventus is about to be completed

Unai Emery’s side have been exploring a deal to sell Luis to Juventus in exchange for cash as well as Samuel Illing Jr. and Enzo Barrenechea.

Selling Luiz will help Aston Villa meet their obligations under the Premier League’s PSR financial rules until the end of this month.

Luiz is delighted to have moved to Juventus, with the deal now close to being completed.

The Brazilian will continue his career with the Serie A giants, joining Juventus who finished third this season.

He could face Aston Villa in next season’s Champions League, with Villa having already qualified.

Aston Villa signed the 26-year-old in the summer of 2019 and he has also attracted interest from Arsenal this summer.

However, Luiz will get a taste of football in Italy’s top flight rather than move to the Emirates.
