Edson Alvarez suffers serious injury, West Ham United on high alert

West Ham United must be on alert after their star midfielder Edson Alvarez left Saturday’s Copa America match between Jamaica and Mexico at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Midway through the game between the two CONCACAF countries, Alvarez rushed back into defense to help stop a counterattack but fell to the ground with what appeared to be an injury to his hamstring.

Alvarez will be substituted in the 30th minute and his Copa America campaign may well be over.
