The 26-year-old defender is entering the final year of his contract at Gent and is expected to leave the Belgian club in an ongoing transfer.

The former Hertha Berlin star has attracted attention in Germany and has also been linked with a move to England.

Leeds United are believed to be considering a move for the centre-back as they prepare for another promotion to the Premier League next season.

Torunariga claims he is considering a number of exciting inquiries and approaches from clubs at this stage of the transfer window.

The defender insists he feels fit and ready to take the next step in his career this summer.

The Nigerian told Transfermarkt: “I’m dealing with some very exciting and specific inquiries.

“I feel good, I’m in top shape and ready for the next step.”

It remains to be seen whether Leeds will make a concrete bid to try and bring him to Elland Road this summer.

While the Whites are set to re-sign Joe Rodon, they could lose another centre-back in the form of Liam Cooper.
