Southampton’s Romain Perrault to join Real Betis

Betis are preparing to permanently sign the French defender from Southampton who spent last season on loan at Nice.

They are making solid progress and are now in the final stages of a transfer.

Perot, 26, will travel to Sevilla on Monday to complete a move to Betis, according to Spanish TV program El Chiringuito.

Betis will pay Southampton more than €3 million to sign Perrault.

Saints acquired Perreault from Ligue 1 side Brest in the summer of 2021.

He played an important role for the club in the 2022/23 season, when Southampton were relegated and then left on loan to avoid playing in the Championship.

Perrault made 19 appearances for Nice in Ligue 1 last season, but the Ligue 1 side chose not to trigger the option to buy him on loan.
